We just got back from Punta Cana and our favorite part of the trip was the Outback Safari. It was a blast. Our guides were Alex and Tony and our driver was Christian. There were all wonderful. They knew so much about their country and kept us laughing and drinking the whole day. We also liked that it was always safety first with them. The lunch they serve is ddelicious and they provide drinks for you all day. Water, soda, beer and rum. We had a great time, learned so much and got some terrific pictures of the countryside. Please let Tony know that when we got back to the states we let his cousin...Sammy Sosa know he said hi!!!! Thanks to all of our guides for making it a day we'll never forget.

Amazing!!! Our guides Angel and Roberto were amusing and informative. We just arrived back from Dominican today and the highlight of our vacation was the outing we received from these two gentlemen. Very organized and truely an inspirational company. Angel opened up his country and showed us the true culture. They give back to the people and left all unspoiled as it should be. Loved the comments from Roberto the driver as he was witty and helpful. Keep up the great work!!!! See you next year as this will be the only excursion I want to repeat.

We went on the tour on Friday, Jan 10th with Carlos as our guide. Compared to the two other tours we took, we wished we had gone on this one twice instead - it was a real fun time thanks to our wonderful guide. The projects sponsored by this company are fantastic - we left our extra baby food and diapers for them to distribute to the needy. Anyone comtemplating this tour should really take it - if they want to have a blast. We will sure take the tour again when we return to this little bit of heaven. The responsibility taken on by the Outback in the help of the education and well being of the children will surely advance the future of the island.

Like they say when your on the tour this will be the best day of your holiday. I had a great time on the outback safari. We went through the villages, mountains, beaches, and anything else you can think of. Not only did we have a great time but we learned a lot about the Dominican as well. I would recommend it to anyone. For $75 US dollars it was well worth it. Go for it and have a good time like I did!

What a blast!! With 7 days at an all-inclusive, it was time to "take a break". Had read many things about Outback Jungle Safari so I decided to book a tour. Well worth the $75. You only see the D.R. from a resort. This tour gets you out in the country and shows you what it's really like. They kept the drinks flowing and our guide, "Eddie Murphy" was a riot. Ours was only his second tour so he wasn't as seasoned as the other guides, but he made it fun for all of the New Jersey and Cleveland people that ended up in our group. And Candyman, the driver was great too. I would reccomend this trip for anyone wanting to see the countryside. (and the msdse they sell is very reasonable).

we got picked up at 9:00, we were the last pick up, and our guide Toni and driver Kristian introduced themselves. They were so funny! First we drove through some roads and went up a mountain and Toni was explaining everything he was great! We stopped off at a house of a dominican family who were kind enough to let us look around, we then went to a smallriver,we swam around and looked at snakes and lizards. We drove through towns and Toni must have a saw throat because he didn't stop talking! When we arrived for lunch which was very nice, we looked around and bought some t-shirts and hats which the money would go to the school for childern, there were other things to buy like oils and chocolate, rum, ect. When we about to leave Kristian drove off leaving Toni running behind, of course he eventually let him back on!Toni then grabed a flower and put it behind his ear singing and put paprika on everyones face! We went swimming in the sea, which was great!!!!!The guides were very protective not for anyone to go to far out, and a mother left her little girl for a few minutes and the guides did not take their eyes off her till the mother came back. We also went to alot of shops to buy cigarettes and alchohol, or just to go to the toilet i have to sayit was the most enjoyable time ever!!!I also have to say that the trip still would have been great but not as great without Toni and Kristian!!!!They were kind very funny and just brilliant!Everyone was smiling!!!!!!!Oh and how could i forget all the rumand coke!!!!There was also lemonade and water! and plenty of rum!!!We will be telling all our friends who are going to the dominican republic to go on this trip!!!!!!

Another trip we went on was the Outback Jungle Safari. (check out their website - it's great!). We had heard good things about this tour and were not disappointed. Their trucks and equipment are new and their guides are just excellent. Our guide was Angel. Each truck holds either 12 or 18 people, and the tour goes from 9:00 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m. You are taken into the countryside, up the mountain, and the whole time the guide is pointing things out, and providing information about the Dominican culture and history. There is a stop at a typical Dominican home, you pass local schools, there's a stop at a "colmado" where you can buy rum, cigars, vanilla, etc. at local prices ( I bought a couple of bottles of pineapple wine). There is a stop at the Yasica River, where you can swim while they are setting up lunch - salads, cold cuts, cheese and buns - excellent food. After that there is a stop at a small zoo, and then a boat ride down the river to Cabarete where you can try boogie boarding (I opted to just stay on the beach). Rum, cerveza and soft drinks are included and available all through the day. At the end of the trip you have a chance to buy Outback Safari t-shirts and hats. All profits from the sale of these items goes to help children in the Dominican Republic. A great day!

The Safari jeep picked us up at 9:00 and we met our guide Willis and the driver Pedro. You start to drive through the country since this is a 3rd world country and that you have it pretty good back home. After about an hour and a half you stop at this farm house in the country and go inside to have a tour. This really opens your eyes to how poor the people really are. Next you continue on and then stop at a small grocery store to see what kinds of things they sell. It was about 1:00 pm now and then you stop at this river where we met up with about 9 other jeeps from the same company and all the guides make a really good lunch. Oh yah I forgot to mention that there is unlimited drinks on this tour. I was really impressed with their professionalism. Now it was off to get on a small motor boat and tour down a river for about 1/2 an hour seeing some of the animals of the country. The next stop was a secluded beach where we all went boogie boarding. This was awesome. Then we started to drive back to the resort which takes about 2 hours. We arrived back at the resort at 5:00 pm and we were very full of food and beer. I can't say enough about our guide Willis - he was knowledgeable about the country, he was very funny and kept all of us laughing. I hope anyone who takes this tour gets him as a guide.

Go on the Outback Jungle Safari!!!!! I cannot say enough good things about it! It was SO worth our time and money. It was US $75 and they pick you up at your hotel around 8:00am and you're back around 5:00pm. You ride on these big "jeeps" and tour the countryside. They take you through Higuey (the closest town) into some sugar cane fields, to a typical Dominican home where we watched brooms being made and were able to see their house and use their "bathroom". Then they take you to a river where you can go swimming (needed badly from the hot sun and all the dust) and then to their ranch for a great lunch! Then they take you out into the countryside again and you go to a local "store" where you can buy rum, coffee, pineapple wine and other goods. And then you work your way home. We had the most amazing bartender on our jeep! He stood on the back ledge of the jeep, barely hanging on to this rope and hading out beers and waters the whole time. And if you needed a rum and coke, he would swftly open the bottle, toss a small amount of coke out of the bottle over his shoulder, fill up the bottle with some rum, shake it up and hand it to you. Nico was our guide and he was so smart and so informative. There was a barely a question that was asked that he couldn't answer. When he says you will return to your hotel at the end of the day knowing everything there is about the Dominican Republic, he isn't kidding!

Hi I would like to give my comment on Outback Jungle Safari's day trip. I saw them advertised on your site and I don't usually book things on the web, (use it mostly for research). However it did look pretty good to me, so I did. When I got to Juan Dolio I contacted there office and finalized the date and time. To my suprise they where waiting for us 15 min before the designated time (something must be wrong this is the caribbean). The guides where probably the best I've experienced in all my 17 years of travel. They where knowegable and had terrific sense of humors something that is extremely important when dealing with us north americans. Their advert is exactly what you get, another thing that does not happen in the caribbean. Of all the things we did on our trip to Juan Dolio this is what all of us remember 1st. It's nice that the experiences you most remember are the good ones. So if any of the people reading this want to have a wonderful day of non touristy fun Outback Safaris is your best day trip. In closing if you check their website they give back to there community so don't forget to take some pencils and note pads for them to give to the children. It's nice to deal with people who are not just takers and we all know who they are, we have experienced them on many vacations. Rick Scull Halcyon Days Travel

I just returned a few days ago from my vacation and I have to tell you that the highlight of the trip was the day I spent on the Outback Jungle Safari. Our guide was Luis and Juan was our driver. Both of these men were very entertaining and provided us with a lot of great info about the DR. We were lucky to have a great group in our Jeep - 6 Canadians and 6 Brits . Hey, you start out the day as strangers but by the end of the day (after bouncing around in the back of the jeep, trying to keep your hair from looking like an alien has taken it over, having smudgy sand and dirt marks all over your face and doing your best not to let your sweaty sunburned parts touch the person next to you) you're strangers no more. Luis had a great sense of humour considering he took a lot of ribbing from us (mostly me) - he always had a witty comeback. I was also very impressed with the way the guides handled themselves when we went boogie-boarding at Cabarete. They were very serious when it came to this part of the tour. They let us know that the surf was rough and that we would have to stay within the perimeters they set up or they were going to get tough with us. The group followed their instructions and had a terrific time at the beach. After a long, hot day on the road and at the beach I thought everyone would be quiet and subdued on the ride back to the hotel - not the case - we were probably the liveliest we'd been all day. We didn't do much drinking during the tour so we let our hair down at the end of the day as a celebration of a great day with new friends. So all in all we had a wonderful adventure, super weather and a few new e-mail pals. I would happily and enthusiastically recommend this tour to all interested in having a great excursion on their next trip to the DR. If I could I'd like to say hi to a few of my Safari pals: Linda, Michele, Steve, Ian, Joanne and a special thanks to Luis and Juan for a memorable day - thanks for all the laughs.
