This tour is a must when visiting DR. Not only was it fun but very educational. Angel is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job and the Island. It was a pleasure meeting him and the others that work for the Outback Safari. It was also nice to see a company putting money back into the community. Thank you Angel and the Outback Safari for making our vacation that much better!!!! And congratulations to Angel and his family on the new baby that is on their way....

Our tour guide was Tony (great Smile) and our driver was Danny, they kept us laughing all day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, it was worth every penny. Good luck Tony with your new baby, my family and I wish you all the best. Thanks again for a great time!

My wife and I just returned from our trip to Punta Cana. While there we went on an Outback Jungle Safari. Our guide's name was Johnny. He was Excellent. We learned the history of this country, from it's very beginning(Christopher Columbus)to present day. We learned about everyday life in D.R., cooled off in a mountain river & swam at a "picture post card" beach. We did all this while having a BLAST!!! Learning has never been so much fun! Thanks

It has almost been a year and our hearts long for your beautiful island.
There were 20 of us down in Punta Cana for a wedding. We took the jungle safari on the second day of ou trip. It was incredible. Tony our guide made the trip worth it and more. He was so informative about the areas that we travelled in and he added a comedic twist. We enjoyed the beautiful countryside, the wonderful villages and the hospitality of the family we visited. Of course the Dominican Rum, (Bahama Mama) was awesome and the Mahamajawana was also very sexy. All in all it was a fantastic cultural experience and we would recommend anyone to take this trip, especially if Tony is your guide. Yahoo from Canada !!! Peace !

Hola me amigos
Jessie, Sandro, we miss you.
We took our 14 and 9 year old on this adventure and I must say we all had a blast. When we signed up for it we thought wow $300.00 U.S. for the 4 of us, but I don't regret one penny of it. We had the best time that day.
I have read all the other reviews on this site and agree whole heartedly with all of them, the only thing I would like to add is that I think the young folks are mistaken when they say older people wouldn't enjoy this trip. I think this trip is for anyone who is able to endure a bit of a bumby adventure. It is both fun and informative. It has given me a hunger for more knowledge of the Dominican way of life and it's history.
The Yassica river was so refreshing. The lunch was great. Our driver Sandro was a sweetheart, it was funny when you left Jessie behind. Jessie was hillarious with his southern drawl, and having a Dominican/American background he could relate to the way things work in both D.R. and more developed countries. The stop at the little corner "supermarket" was very enlightening, and prices were great. I've heard people say that they like to bring candy for the children, that's very nice and I'm sure the children like that, but there are so many other more useful things they would appreciate. Ie; pencils, books, balls, they don't have dental plans so think of what else you may be able to provide them with. The dollar stores are a treasure trove of goodies for these children. Better yet buy the souvenir merchandise from the Outback Safari, it's great merchandise and 95% of the proceeds go to the good of the education. WHEN we go back to the Dominican we will be sure to do this excursion again. Your Canadian friends, Tanja, Pete, Mike and Billy.

Outback Safari was definitely the highlight of our trip. The guides were amazingly knowledgeable and humorous, which made for a fun learning experience. Gregory and Papy had us laughing the whole bumpy way-especially Papy’s liquor driving license! I have returned back to the states with a newfound knowledge and respect for the country, Republica Dominicana, and its people. In my many years of traveling throughout the Caribbean, this tour alone has caused this to be my most favorite trip. It is one thing to go to a warm Caribbean resort to get away from the cold of our northern winters, but the truth is, if you lay on one Caribbean beach you maybe laying on any. Getting to meet the locals and understanding their culture has made this a touching memorable experience never to be forgotten. Tony, the light in your eyes is enough to keep me warm the rest of the winter! I will never forget you! ~Diedra

Touring the "Real Dominican Republic" was one of the best days of my life. Our tour guide, Kenny, told us so much information and was very humorous and our driver papi was so friendly and gave us yummmy sugar cane. They both made the safari ten times better than it already was! I loved meeting the family and all the people in the village were so happy and so nice. The boogie boarding was the most fun time I have ever had in an ocean. I can't stop talking about the safari. I am bringing in the pictures to spanish class to show all of my classmates. It was so much fun you can't describe it in words. I can't wait to live there when I grow up!

We had the opportunity to experience the safari adventure this year for a second time in as many years.
We had such a fantastic time in Feb 2002 with our tour guide Angel that we just had to ask for him again this year. With Angel as our tour guide and Juan as our driver once again we set off in the back country of the Dominican for a memorable and very enjoyable day. Angel's knowledge of the history, culture animals, plants and the way the Dominican people lived for over 100 years was educational and his presentation was a blast. No doubt the best day of our vacation. Hope to see you at the Moose some day Angel.

I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Dominican Republic. The week was so wonderful.I am so sad to be home. One of the highlights of our trip was the day we spent on the Outback Safari. We decided that we would do one tour while there and we are glad that we choose this one.The day was soo much fun.Our guide Miguiel(a.k.a-Sexy Chocolate!)and our driver Carlos were great.Miguiel was very funny and he spoke very good English. He showed us the real Domincian Republic and showed us a great time. The servesa(beer)and rum was free flowing all day lunch was very good as well.We visited a rum shack and a couple of Dominican towns.Swimming at the secluded beach was a highlight. The waves were great. These guides should be highly recommended-they do a great job.I am sending some pictures along,I hope they get through.Miguiel said he would love to see some of the pictures that we took.If you take this tour say hi to Miguiel!!!

We were in Punta Cana the last week of January and went on the Outback Safari tour. Our guide was Willie. It was awesome. He told us so much about the people, the history and we saw so much. He has an endearing personality, charming, and quite humorous. He kept the drinks flowing, and was always concerned about safety. I was impressed from beginning to end, it is a top notch tour.
Most importantly I learned so much about the history, and culture - SUPERB! Thanks.

i strongly suggest you take advantage of this trip. our guide was Dios and the driver was Adriano, the two of them where brilliant all day. their sense of humour is brilliant, their knowledge of the tour itself is brilliant, their english is brilliant. basically the whole day is brilliant. they are working for a good cause helping the local school kids, they have sponsored at least 2 schools in the north coast who run up to the trucks as you go past. you get to see the real domincan republic, they are so friendly and really excited just because you have waved to them a really superb and interesting tour. thanks guys
