I'm leaving this comment because there is never much information for wheelchair users. The trip was suitable as long as you can get up a step onto the truck. Both the driver and guide were very good at lending a hand, and when we all got to the beach, the guides took my father in his wheelchair across the sand so we didn't even have to try! He didn't see the inside of the house but apart from that had a wonderful time as did the rest of us. Our guide (Jesse) was a little bit crazy, but knew everything about where we visited and plenty about where we all came from too! Worth every penny!

We went down there for my cousins wedding, at the end of January. There were 25 of us that went on this tour. It was awesome, our guide was Jesse and he did an amazing job on keeping us entertained and informed! We had such a great time that we have put together another group of people to come back to the D.R. next year. We will definitely be back on this tour. I would recommend everyone to go on the outback safari, you will have a blast!

February, 2007. We just got back from our trip to the Dominican, and we all agree that the highlight of our entire travel was the Outback Safari. We met fun people and our guide Julian and driver Fry were absolutely amazing. Infact, my 11 year old son said that Julian was his favorite part of the whole trip. The countryside is breathtaking and the company is great. A job very well done!

The outback safari was such a wicked trip I decided to go on it twice. Bobbing up and down the truck clinging on for dear life was hilarious, especially after a Cuba Libré or ten. Once the dust clouds settled, we clambered off the truck with the help of our driver Henry and tour guide Easy and were introduced to traditional country living. The wooden house came complete with oil lamps, a propane gas cooled fridge and, rather unexpectedly, a small solar panel on the tin roof for the telly. Ah yes and of course a family. In this case a young woman with three or four small children. And that was just at the first stop. Back on the lorry we continued to a village school, tasted locally produced fruits and sugar cane, and, after merrily bumping along the road, arrived at the most beautiful beach near Carbarete. Henry's driving was superb. Easy's witty delivery of historical and current facts whilst simultaneously pouring countless rum and cokes on a bouncy truck was simply outstanding. And we tourists were a thirsty and grateful lot. In my opinion this experience is definitely worth repeating. Needless to say I'll be back with a bunch of friends in a few months time...

This tour was possibly the best day of my life. Carlos and Franklin were amazing and I will never forget them. I am so thankful to have experienced some Dominican culture and seen how beautiful it is and also how real it is outside of the resort. I can't wait to go back and am planning on sending some packages for the children :) one word to sum up the day with the outback safari crew = UNFORGETABLE!!

What a great way to spend a rainy day! Eddie our tour guide was fantastic! He made the day so much fun. The trip was highly organized and safe. We appreciated the stop at a school to meet the children and share candy with them. The people on the tour were welcoming. I would suggest this tour to anyone who wants to explore the beautiful countryside.

Colette, Debbie and I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure on Wed Feb 7, 2007. Junior was hilarious, informative, very cute, and welcomed us all as part of his family (I'm sure he doesn't say that to ALL his tours, ha ha!). He was able to answer questions on a wide variety of subjects including types of birds, trees, and berries we saw, and if he didn't know the answer, he very possibly made it up (how would we know the difference!). Scooby was an awesome driver, found every bump in the road, didn't run over any goats or donkeys, and we'll never forget the Scooby specials! I enjoyed boogie boarding for the first time and thanks to Junior and that other guide "Steve" - I don't remember his name but he reminded me of Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter, those guys helped me get on the board and ride the waves and taught me that all important lesson out there - "remember, if you think you're drowning, stand up!". Seeing a typical home, and meeting kids at one of the schools were also highlights for me, as was holding the crocodile. But there's something to be said for drinking an ice cold beer out of the back of a jeep on a beautiful hot sunny day, knowing its -28 degrees with the wind chill back home. Thanks guys for a very memorable adventure. It was well worth the money. And keep up the good work supporting those who need it in the area.

Junior & Scooby's family took our Outback Jungle Safari on Feb 7-07 and it was amazing. Fun, interesting, educational and most of all a memory I'll have forever. I would go back again in a heartbeat (and would recommend anyone who has the opportunity - take this adventure). We couldn't have asked for better guides in Junior and Scooby - thank you to both of you!

Three of us went on the Outback Safari on 21st Dec 06. It was an absolutely brilliant day, thoroughly enjoyed all of it even though the weather was a bit wet and miserable! Easy was our guide and he was great, all the guides were very funny and knowledgeable. The fact that this tour helps people is a bonus! Would highly recommmend this trip, and try to get Easy as a guide if you can - he's brilliant!!

We just got back from an awesome weeks holiday in Puerto Plata. We went on the Outback Jungle Safari, and were blessed with an awesome time. Our guide Jesse was funny, entertaining, informative, and very courteous!! Well done Jesse, it was our pleasure to meet you. We hope to come back in the next couple of years and would definately take this excursion again. Tremendous job by everyone. Can't remember our driver's name but he did an awesome job as well getting us back to our hotel safe and sound.
